Status motor problems Campbell river

Hello to english speakning People.

Have been told that the translate button is not working.

Some of You have asked for a status after you heard Of motor problems. So here it is.

we are  fine actually. We discovered the problem.

Svend found the reason the dripping water and oil from engine . Causing lots of salt water oily slime in the sump. Picture shows how bad it was.

Decided to be careful and get towed to Campbell river 30 nautical miles. 60 km. 4,5 hours.

I was worried about how dead the town might be.  but alas. I found a wonderful knitting store http://www.needlenart.com

and I have found kind ladies with such nice help  so I just had to get on to a new project and just had to buy wool for that. And then I had to go back and let them help me learn to knit socks. And so I have made new 'friends'. Funny expression but somehow when boating,  people drift in and out of harbours and anchor spots and the 'friend' idea is different.

Helpfulness all around. Even getting the boat towed for 4,5 hours was almost nice because a great young woman Jess, from blind channel water taxi, towed us with such a good gracious feeling of the water. And we felt safe all the way through even though we had strong current with us. We were going 14 knots at a point. We usually go 5!

We got a great mechanic from altechdiesel.com and mechanic Len just walked us through and we felt in good hands all the way.

He was aware that we needed help and got the parts efficiently. New raw water pump and impeller and fan belt. Then put them in and today tested the engine up to running heat so to check that all is ok.

Prof. Great.

Campbell river is fine. Superstore. But also some cute restaurants dicks fish and chips by the quathiaski ferry is straight from the fifties. and cafés and bookstore. And the yarn shop!

So we are stocked up on everything. Our 'guest room' is full right now so we will have to squeeze when the Danes come!

I am sure that it will all work out fine:)

So yes. On our way back to blind channel tomorrow with the slack before the currents get too strong going through Seymour narrows.

Fascinating what they did here.

And tomorrow we  will have a nice dinner at blind channel  and thank them for their  help getting water taxi going for us when we needed it.

After that we plan to go northwest to forward harbour and find the broughtons!

Sorry that the translate does not work on the blog. Internet is not great here so I can not edit the blog much. We can just upload at the moment.

We are still doing Well. Probably helps to know that this was not our fault. That it was just wear and tear. That nothing worse happened because we stopped and did not keep going and risked that the engine broke down completely.

We did not damage our boat or other boats. Or people.

And to be rather safe than sorry.

And it also helps that we did not have to pay the 1000 dollars for towing. Nor the 1000 dollars for the part and mechanic hours.

And it was so nice that we did not have visiting  Danes on board!

So all in all it has been good.

I have only missed lemon meringue pie. But I am sure it is waiting for me somewhere while in canada.

And I have had so much fun knitting!
